Connecting Communities with
Life-Changing Outdoor Experiences

As Australia's leading advocate for camps, the Australian Camps Association (ACA) bridges the gap between groups seeking transformative experiences and our trusted network of camp and outdoor activity providers nationwide.

Whether you're planning a school expedition, youth group adventure, corporate retreat, or community program, we'll connect you with providers who share our commitment to safety, quality, and meaningful outdoor engagement. Our members don't just offer activities, they create environments where participants build confidence, develop resilience, forge lasting friendships, and discover capabilities they never knew they had.

We champion the profound impact that well-designed camps and led outdoor experiences have on mental health, personal growth, and community connection. From urban students experiencing their first bushwalk to individuals with disabilities conquering new challenges, we believe every Australian deserves access to the transformative power of the outdoors.

The difference: When you work with an ACA member, you're choosing providers who meet rigorous standards, prioritise participant safety, and are passionate about creating experiences that participants will remember for a lifetime.

Our Reach
Nationwide Network, Local Impact

Today, the Australian Camps Association connects communities across the continent through our network of more than 250 member camps and outdoor activity providers spanning seven states and territories: The Australian Capital Terrirory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria. Each year, we provide information and guidance to thousands of groups seeking quality outdoor experiences, while supporting our members with professional development, resources, and advocacy that strengthens the entire sector.

Our History
Four Decades of Excellence

Since 1983, the Australian Camps Association has grown from a single state organisation to Australia's national peak body for camps and outdoor activity providers. What started as the Camping Association of Victoria has evolved into a unified national force, officially forming as the ACA in 2005 when four state associations joined together. Our journey reflects the unwavering dedication of countless camp operators and outdoor educators who believe in the transformative power of outdoor experiences for Australian communities.

Leadership & Expertise
Guided by Industry Experience

Our success is driven by passionate professionals who understand the camps and led outdoor sector from every angle. Our volunteer Board of Directors brings together decades of collective expertise from government, commercial operations, not-for-profit providers, service organisations, and academia across multiple states. This diverse leadership ensures ACA remains responsive to member needs while advancing the broader interests of Australia's camps sector. Our dedicated staff team works daily to support association members and deliver specialised programs including our People Outdoors program (disability services).
